PTR7002 is compact low-power Wi-Fi 6 Companion Modules based on Nordic Semiconductor's Wi-Fi 6 chipset PTR7002 utilizing decades of ultra-low-power wireless expertise to maximize Wi-Fi's low-power potential in various applications including home automation, smart lighting, and other loT devices.​ It is designed to be used alongside Nordic's existing nRF52 and nRF53 Series Bluetooth Systemson-Chip (SoCs), andI nRF91® Series cellular IoT Systems-in-Package (SiPs).The module can also be used in conjunction with non-Nordic host devices.​ With Wi-Fi 6 the module will support all wireless protocols used in Matter, Bluetooth LE for commissioning, Thread for low power mesh, and Wi-Fi for high-throughput. PTR7002 supports dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5GHz band operation. PTR7002 supports 20 MHz wide channels, 1x1 (SISO) operation and can provide a PHY bandwidth of up to 86 Mbps (MCS7). It supports Station and Wi-Fi Direct operation modes as well as Soft AP(Wi-Fi 4 operation only) and simultaneous Station +Soft AP/Wi-Fi Direct/Station modes.
